Two Weeks On

So here we are – we’ve almost emptied all the boxes, almost put together the furniture. Let’s just say we’ve been a little distracted by a little bundle of noise…

Samuel has definitely established himself as the centre of attention at 6/98 Alt Street. He has received all kinds of beautiful gifts and cards, and already met his fair share of visitors.

It’s taking a little time to get used to the fact that there is no routine! For the first week at home we had a pretty good schedule of 3 hour sleeps and happy eating, but in the last couple of days he seems to be a little more alert during the day and evening, and sleep is officially for baby wimps! The nappy change has never been a popular time, the only time he cries at the moment. Mr Lasky Jr doesn’t like a cold tushy, this we have established. Today we had our first poo explosion – right through the nappy, onesie and wrap, and the washing machine is going to start claiming overtime payments soon. But despite confusing the heck out of daddy and I, the little man is pretty amazing. I think he’s inherited the ‘Lasky Logic’ (i.e. there is none to anything he does), and I think I was more confident organising 150 delegates than 1 baby, but for now we’re taking it one day at a time, trying to make sense of the different movements and noises, and hopefully we’ll start to understand each other.

I can’t believe he’s been in our lives for 2 weeks already. It has been tiring, but it has been more than I could have ever imagined. We can’t wait til his little personality starts to come out and we can have some play time together.

    Who needs clocks and calendars?!
“We can see SR Lasky just moving the number two down to fine leg there…”

    • Tippão says:

      that’s ‘SJ’ obviously…

I can just picture the grin on your face while you typed that…

      • Tippão says:

so true Lasks, so true… apologies for typing ‘SR’ and not ‘SJ’, I clearly had the great SR Waugh in mind while imagining little Samuel’s future at first drop in the Prime Minister’s XI…

I’m sure you are handling it with consummate ease. It’s only when you have one of your own you realise your parents were clueless when they had you too!
Someone really should get round to writing that instruction manual…
He is the cutest little boy I have ever seen…FACT!! xxx

  3. Hairul says:

Thanks Ali and Daddy Lasky for the wonderful updates. New place, new addition to the family…sounds like it’s all pretty good. Can’t wait to meet Samuel.

  4. Todd says:

Thank you Samuel for not making me share my birthday and also, okay, it’s done… I now hand over the official title of World’s Most Handsome. Enjoy the reign, my beautiful boy.
